We want to delight people not destroy the planet, so we’ve been exploring a replacement for conventional cement, using recycled aggregates and incorporating 100% recycled fibres into our bespoke pieces since day one.
The ecological reputation of concrete is improving, as developments in production and recycling techniques are significantly reducing its environmental impact.
In 2020, the Global Cement & Concrete Association (GCCA) issued a pledge to achieve carbon neutrality across the industry by 2025 – we’re not only on board with this, we’re making it real.
Crafting impactful, eco-friendly creations
Our ambition has always been to create amazing, hand-crafted objects, but not at the expense of our home. Kinder practices have been part of our journey since our very first commission. We apply circular economy principles throughout the process to minimise our carbon output.
Here’s how we’ve committed to sustainability:
We are phasing out conventional cement products in favour of kinder alternatives like fly ash, slag and other industrial by-products. These materials significantly reduce C02 emissions.
We want to achieve 100% use of recycled fibres and aggregates in our concrete products. This reduces landfill waste and conserves natural resources by not harvesting virgin materials.
We’re using less energy by running our machinery in the most economical way.
Water is a valuable resource, and we’re using less by recycling it throughout the manufacturing process and overall, consuming less.
By adopting a ‘recycle first’ policy, using less and committing to zero landfill waste.
